Office Hours: MWF 8-9, 12-2; TR 10:15-11
Guided Study: Room 101
Following
a review of the material covered in the previous year, this course will present
the remaining elements of Russian grammar and will address certain aspects of
syntax and idiomatic speech. Consequently, greater emphasis will be placed on
oral and aural communication. Since language is an integral part of culture,
the Tuesday class will be devoted to various aspects of Russian culture. In
presenting various aspects of Russian life and culture, we will make use of
Russian video material.
Homework
assignments, consisting of written work and/or memorization of vocabulary, must
be completed by the next class meeting; assignments turned in late will not be
accepted, except in the case of an excused absence. Active class participation,
especially with regard to oral exercises, is essential for the attainment of
language proficiency.

homework assignments, quizzes, dictation and active class participation will
count for one-third of the semester grade.
