Student Performers:
RACHEL ARRETTEIG, from Mandeville, is a senior at LSMSA.  She has been a dedicated member of the LSMSA String Ensemble for the past two years.  She started studying the violin eight years ago in Glen Carbon, Illinois, and currently studies with Toru Tagawa at LSMSA.  She has been a member of the Illinois All-State Orchestra and the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra.  She will be attending Louisiana Tech in the fall to study journalism.

GARY FERNANDEZ, from Alexandria, is a junior at LSMSA.  This is his first year with the LSMSA String Ensemble.  He is very active in many arts activities at LSMSA, including being a member of the Encore! show choir.  He has played the violin for six years under the tutelage of Julia Davis, Kristine Joubert, and Toru Tagawa.  This year he was a member of the LMEA All-State Orchestra serving as assistant principal for the second violins.

MARI NOVOSAD, from Pineville, is a senior at LSMSA.  She has been playing the viola for seven years with the past two years as a member of the LSMSA String Ensemble.  She has also performed with the District Honor Orchestra for several years.  She plans to attend LSU in the fall and major in pre-med.

WILLIAM SMITH, from Alexandria, is a junior at LSMSA.  This is his first year with the LSMSA String Ensemble.  He has been playing the cello for six years.  This year he was a member of the LMEA All-State Orchestra.

SUZANNE VAN DUYM, from Bush, is a senior Arts Focus at LSMSA.  She has been a dedicated member of the LSMSA String Ensemble for the past two years, as well as playing with the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra.  She has studied the violin for six and a half years with Lee Coker, Kat Fritz, and Toru Tagawa.  Previously she was a member of the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Youth Symphony Orchestra.  She will be attending LSU in the fall where she plans to major in psychology and participate with the LSU Symphony Orchestra.
